Photo-Diarist James R. Holland has worked as a film editor and producer for The Christian Science Center in Boston and his documentaries have won several awards. As a young man he became interested in film making because he was the still photographer for a National Geographic Television Show about the Amazon River. His still photographs of Arthur Fiedler were animated by Walt Disney Studios to make a short PBS television tribute to the Boston Pops Conductor that was narrated by actor Charlton Heston. Two of his immediate film and television bosses included actor Alan Young and Kay Kyser of Big Band and Television fame. James R. Holland has also authored more than a dozen books and written hundreds of book and movie reviews as well as writing dozens of illustrated magazine articles.
